Secondary English

English skills for life

Strong written and spoken English skills are so essential for success in many subjects at secondary school. Whether writing a report in science, undertaking a project in geography or putting across a viewpoint in politics,  students need to be able to convey their thoughts and ideas in a coherent and articulate manner.

We all learn best when we are happy, engaged and confident so, at Flying Start, we aim to create a positive, nurturing learning environment in which all our students flourish.  In addition to the core subject matter, we teach specific techniques from neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) to help pupils deal with anxiety, improve concentration and enhance performance.  It is these techniques that make our approach unique and mean that Flying Start students learn smarter.

So whether your child needs to get their core English skills up to scratch or some support preparing for GCSEs, contact us to find out how Flying Start can help.

My son Jack
gone off today cheerfully, feeling calm but nervous and well prepared. Whatever
happens, he’s moved up a maths group at school which is fantastic and very much
down to his increased confidence since being at Flying Start.
