All our centres are Ofsted registered, This means that we comply with the relevant child welfare legislation, including safeguarding and health and safety. All our staff have DBS checks and many are trained first aiders. Worryingly, this is not a requirement for tutors or tuition companies who are not on the Ofsted register. But, with Flying Start, you know your child is in safe hands.
It also means that you can take advantage of the government run Tax-Free Childcare scheme. Parents can receive up to £2,000 per child through this scheme and due to our Ofsted registration, can use it to pay for their term time and holiday courses at Flying Start – making our courses great value for money.
Contact us to discuss how you can pay for our courses using Tax-Free Childcare.
At Flying Start, we are passionate about improving educational opportunities for all. To this end, we offer a range of bursaries to support children from families with low incomes. Bursaries can be used to pay from 25% to 100% of group course fees.
If applying for a bursary, we ask that you think honestly about what you could afford to contribute to your child’s fees. The more you contribute, the more funds will be available to support other families and the more children we will be able to assist to access tuition that would otherwise be out of their reach.
If you would like to apply for a tuition bursary for your child, please call us to discuss or contact us using the contact form below to request a bursary form. We will ask you to complete a simple form and provide proof of income.
The Penny Elliott 11+ Scholarship
This scholarship fund has been set up in memory of Penny Elliott, a dear friend of Flying Start and respected member of the local Chesham community, who sadly passed away in 2019. One of Penny’s many fields of expertise was the Eleven Plus and she was a tremendous source of advice and support on all matters relating to schools’ applications and appeals. Over the years, Penny guided many Flying Start parents through the Eleven Plus appeals process and gave freely of her time to do so.
Penny was passionate about helping others and, like us, wanted to see greater equality of opportunity in the education system. We felt it was fitting, therefore, to set up a scholarship fund in Penny’s name so that her memory will live on at Flying Start in the form of financial support for families going through the Eleven Plus process for many years to come.
